Romans 5:6-10, three times we read that Christ died for us, and the lesson is progressive. Verses 6; when you were yet without strength, Christ died for the ungodly. Verse 8: while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us, Verse 10: when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son. Thus, in our helplessness, in our sinfulness, yes in our willfulness, Christ died for us.
