Once this dispensation of grace is over, God will resume the fulfillment of prophecy where it left off in mid-Acts—“the last days”1 prior to the establishment of the kingdom. The next event in prophecy is “the time of Jacob’s trouble,”2 the great tribulation. The primary purpose of the tribulation is to be a “refiner’s fire” and purge the rebels out of Israel, so that “the offering of Judah and Jerusalem [will] be pleasant to the Lord.”
