The Acts of the Apostles Acts 1: 9-11 – The ascension. Clouds associated with prophetic return of Christ. Acts 1: 12-20 – Death of Judas fulfills the prophecy. Acts 1: 21-26 – Selection of the 12 th Apostle. The apostle Paul was not the replacement of Judas or any non-performing Apostle. Paul will not be qualified in the criteria set verses 21-22. This confirms Paul was not the 12 th or 13 th apostle rather he was the apostle appointed by the Lord for the dispensation of the grace of God.
