The Acts of the Apostles Acts 1: 1-3 – Forty days after the resurrection. Acts 1: 4-5 – Do not depart from Jerusalem but wait for the promise of the Father. Acts 1: 6-7 – Restoration of the kingdom. Acts 1: 8 – The Jerusalem commission. The book of Acts starts with a great hope of kingdom is coming, but it ends with a disappointing message that the kingdom is going to Gentiles (Acts 28:26-28).
