Prior to the dispensation of grace, the hope of God’s people was to be resurrected into a kingdom God will establish on this earth. And, indeed, those who were saved in the Old Testament and under the kingdom gospel will be resurrected into that kingdom. Christ will one day be king over the earth. He taught that he would go away and return. He said, “the meek shall inherit the earth.” The book of Revelation looks forward to the coming of God’s kingdom to this earth when new Jerusalem will descend from heaven to the earth.
